Thanksgiving

While we prepared for the Thanksgiving feast Ella slept in her papasan chair. We could not get over the way she put her neck. We moved it into a more 'normal' position but she put it right back. She is so funny.

Pop pop got to feed and burp Ella, the first of her many Thanksgiving bottles.

For appetizers we had Winter Squash Dip, Crab Stuffed Shrimp, and great conversation with the family.
Memere got a big smile from Ella.

Daddy and Munch.

So cute!! Thanks Aunt Courtney for helping find this adorable outfit!

Mike and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful baby girl.
Uncle thought it was too cold to join us on the porch. I think he just wanted to take a nap.
We had a great spread!

Turkey, Bean's Beans, Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Corn Pudding and Corn Bread Pudding, Deer Sausage Apple Stuffing, and Gravy. It was wonderful to have to whole family help out with the dinner. We even had Uncle make a dish, corn pudding. We had a taste off between his own recipe of Corn Pudding and the Worthington's Corn Bread Pudding. Uncle won!! Great Job Uncle!!!
After dinner we had Bread, Cheese, and Fruit (brought by Memere and Pepere) Yes!! I can finally have Brie again (I had missed out for 9 months)

Aunt Jessie and Uncle Eric joined us for dessert. Aunt Jessie made a delicious Pumpkin Cheesecake and Pop Pop made a yummy pecan pie. We also had champagne and toasted Jessie and Eric's engagement.
After dessert we all hung out in the living room and enjoyed each others company.

Gama and Ella sleeping together. I never thought I would see Gama asleep at a family function. If you have been to one of our parties, you know she does not stop. I was so happy to see her relax! Good job Ella!!!
What a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

4 Days old already!!!

Ella has now been home for 2 nights and 3 days. Throughout that time there have been lots of visitors and changes in daily routines. The first day home Gama and Pop Pop came by to help out with a few things. Gama was busy straighting up and hanging out with Ella as Mommie and Daddy tried to sleep and adjust to this new life. Pop Pop helped out with keeping Ella occupied. Mike and I tried to nap but it did not work, we were too excited about Ella to sleep and could not take our eyes off our little girl.

Uncle Freddy also came over with a huge teddy bear for Ella and the most beautiful white and yellow roses for her Mommie! He is such a sweet heart. He held Ella for a few minutes and then was on his way. It was so nice to see him!

Later that night Uncle Danny and Auntie Shelly came over to hang out and visit with their new niece. That night Mike and I slept a grand total of 2 hours!! Yippie! Apparently we were supposed to be supplementing with formula. Nobody told us! Poor Ella was not getting enough to eat. She had not peed since the morning before and she was a little yellow. We immediately called the doctors and headed in for an appointment. We then had to take her in to get checked for Jaundice. A few hours later we received a call from the doctor that she was OK and did not have Jaundice but if she did not pee by the next morning then we would need to take her to Mercer Hospital. We were so scared!

On our way to the docs.

Ella's first sponge bath at home! She loved it.

That night Grandma and Grandpa came over and gave us dinner and presents. They also allowed us to take a much needed nap! It was so wonderful to see them and have them here with Ella. Grandpa put together the travel swing for us which is now in our bedroom just in case we need it in the middle of the night.

Her second nights sleep was so much better! She woke up every 2 hours to be feed but would go back to sleep right away. After her 4 am feeding she slept for 4 entire hours!! We love the Papasan chair, that is where we put her after the 4am feeding. What a lifesaver! We were so nervous when we went to check her diaper to see if there was pee. When we opened the diaper we were so excited!! PEE!! She has been doing well and her next doctors appointment is Monday.

Gama and Pop Pop stopped by this afternoon to show us Pop Pop's new car. He got rid of the truck and sprung for a minivan. It is a fire engine red Chrysler Pacifica! Very fancy he got all the bells and whistles. Since I have been pumping everyone has been able to join in on feeding Ella. This is Pop Pop burping Ella after Gama fed her.

Ella tested out her swing today and loves it. She said it is so comforting that she could stay in it all day!
