Our Life Lately...

Here are some cute pictures of the 'Munch' we have been having tons of fun with her smiles, giggles, and new solid foods. We just went to the docs for the 4 month visit. 14 pounds 9 ounces, 24 inches, and the Dr. B was very impressed with her alertness and strong legs. She had shots again, we hate shots!! She is very healthy though and has begun to eat solid foods. At the moment carrots are her fav. below is a pic of her eating broccolli I did not think about all the gas that it would produce...oops, I was just so excited!! I have returned back to work and it has been better than I thought. So far the days are going quickly and she is having a wonderful time at Pop Pop Day Care.

2 Month Doctors Appointment

Today, we went to Ella's 2 month appointment. We could not believe it when we walked in and were the first ones there!! YES!! Needless to say, we did not have to wait very long to get into a room. We first went to get weighed and measured. Ella now weighs 11 pounds 9 ounces and is 22 inches long. She is between the 50th and 75th percentile for both height and weight.
We met a new doctor today, Dr. Flores. She is the most senior doctor at the practice, and very nice. She said Hi to Ella and Ella replied with a smile and some of her signature gas. Dr. Flores thought it was histerical.
The doctor gave her 4 immunizations today. Hence the band aids on her little legs above. When she got them she cried so hard. It was the first time we saw tears. We felt so bad for her, Mike held one hand and I held the other. Poor little girl, it broke our hearts to hear and see her cry like that.
The rest of the visit was great. The doctor was very impressed with Ella's strength in her neck, arms, and legs. We told her about Ella standing when she gets burped and she could not believe it. She told us to continue to swaddle her for another month to help her continue to sleep through the night. She said we have a very advanced little one and have been doing a great job keeping her active. That put a smile on our faces.

4 Days old already!!!

Ella has now been home for 2 nights and 3 days. Throughout that time there have been lots of visitors and changes in daily routines. The first day home Gama and Pop Pop came by to help out with a few things. Gama was busy straighting up and hanging out with Ella as Mommie and Daddy tried to sleep and adjust to this new life. Pop Pop helped out with keeping Ella occupied. Mike and I tried to nap but it did not work, we were too excited about Ella to sleep and could not take our eyes off our little girl.

Uncle Freddy also came over with a huge teddy bear for Ella and the most beautiful white and yellow roses for her Mommie! He is such a sweet heart. He held Ella for a few minutes and then was on his way. It was so nice to see him!

Later that night Uncle Danny and Auntie Shelly came over to hang out and visit with their new niece. That night Mike and I slept a grand total of 2 hours!! Yippie! Apparently we were supposed to be supplementing with formula. Nobody told us! Poor Ella was not getting enough to eat. She had not peed since the morning before and she was a little yellow. We immediately called the doctors and headed in for an appointment. We then had to take her in to get checked for Jaundice. A few hours later we received a call from the doctor that she was OK and did not have Jaundice but if she did not pee by the next morning then we would need to take her to Mercer Hospital. We were so scared!

On our way to the docs.

Ella's first sponge bath at home! She loved it.

That night Grandma and Grandpa came over and gave us dinner and presents. They also allowed us to take a much needed nap! It was so wonderful to see them and have them here with Ella. Grandpa put together the travel swing for us which is now in our bedroom just in case we need it in the middle of the night.

Her second nights sleep was so much better! She woke up every 2 hours to be feed but would go back to sleep right away. After her 4 am feeding she slept for 4 entire hours!! We love the Papasan chair, that is where we put her after the 4am feeding. What a lifesaver! We were so nervous when we went to check her diaper to see if there was pee. When we opened the diaper we were so excited!! PEE!! She has been doing well and her next doctors appointment is Monday.

Gama and Pop Pop stopped by this afternoon to show us Pop Pop's new car. He got rid of the truck and sprung for a minivan. It is a fire engine red Chrysler Pacifica! Very fancy he got all the bells and whistles. Since I have been pumping everyone has been able to join in on feeding Ella. This is Pop Pop burping Ella after Gama fed her.

Ella tested out her swing today and loves it. She said it is so comforting that she could stay in it all day!
